Brand and Website Design Decrenew Interiors

I am so excited to share this new design project with you!  A few months ago, I was contacted by Ruthie of DecRenew Interiors to help her refresh her brand and website.  Ruthie has a bold, rich design style and wanted to reflect that in the new design.  We achieved that using a combination of black, warm browns and hint of gold.  Strong and classic is how I describe Ruthie’s vision…

Color Inspiration Board

After deciding on a logo, we built Ruthie’s brand elements around the vision board, logo and color scheme.

I am so happy with how the overall design and website turned out.  It is simple and classic, designed to showcase Ruthie’s gorgeous interiors and strong pops of color.

Bake by Weight

I recently had the pleasure of working on a new custom Blogger design for Elaine at Bake by Weight.

Elaine emailed me her logo, which provided the design inspiration.  The fresh mint and orchid color scheme was a new and fun combination for me.  Elaine has some very helpful hints for why you should throw out your measuring cups and bake by weight.  Check out this post, Get Rid of Those Measuring Cups, for details…

ericamlongshowcase I recently had the pleasure of working with Graphic Designer, Erica Morgan Long, on a new blogger design.  Erica is currently in the process of re-branding her blog Wicked Bride to Erica Morgan Long.

She was looking for a simple, sophisticated design for her new blog site and I believe we achieved exactly what she was looking for with her new design.  Her site is not “officially” launched yet, but visit her shop Wicked Bride to shop her invitation line.

Happy December! I can’t believe it has been such a long time since I caught you up on recent projects around here. I have been staying busy with a lot of fun new projects. Today, I wanted to highlight a few of my favorites…

Home+Style Report

The fabulous Jenn at HomeStyle Report was looking to simplify her blog design. We went with a neutral, chic black and white color scheme. The simplicity really makes her large, gorgeous photos pop! Sometimes simple is the way to go. I love how her design turned out. After her design was installed she sent me the sweetest email, “Hey Elizabeth! I just wanted to thank you again for the awesome new look for the blog! It’s absolutely perfect!

In addition to Jenn’s Blogger design, I recently completed a fun WordPress design for the lovely Cali Ann. Cali Ann writes a fashion blog NYC to Cali. She also wanted a fresh, simple design, but with a touch of watercolor…

NYC to Cali

The last project I would like to share today is one close to home. Last summer, I had the opportunity to work with a local coffeehouse, Musical Grounds, on their logo design. In addition to the logo design, I worked with them on the historical renovation of their space. They have recently expanded Musical Grounds to Charleston, WV and contacted me to design a website for their two locations.

The simple, contemporary look of each of these designs is really getting me excited for 2014. I love the direction graphic and webdesign is going, are you ready for a fresh start in 2014?

Pre-Made Design Feature: Sweet Southern Prep

I first “met” Ashley from Sweet Southern Prep almost a year ago when she purchased my Lemon Lime pre-made design.  We customized the colors on the pre-made and added a custom navigation bar to suit her needs.  Recently, Ashley contacted me again for a “re-fresh.”  This time she chose to customize my Tangerine & Sage pre-made.

She went with a custom color scheme of bright pink and sage.  We added a custom navigation bar, additional social media icons, a custom pin-it button, favicon and signature.  Pre-made designs are a terrific way to get a custom look with little investment and without a wait in the design queue.  The changes are made and the design is installed within 3-5 days after purchase.

Today, I wanted to share a screen shot of Ashley’s design after the customizations, perfectly feminine for a “sweet, southern prep”…don’t you think?

Inspired by: Cobalt Blue and Canary Yellow

cobalt_and_canary This morning, on The Mustard Ceiling, I shared some fabulous Cobalt Blue and Canary yellow inspiration.  Not only is this a fun, chic color palette for interiors, but for graphics as well.

Currently, I am working with a client on a logo design.  She is an interior designer we are using a similar color palette for her logo.  Design inspiration is everywhere.  Many of my graphic design projects are heavily influenced by interior design trends.  I love using interior design to pull color combinations, textures and geometric patterns for graphic clients.

Where do you find yourinspiration? What colors are inspiring you at the moment?

Re-Brand: The Mustard Ceiling, LLC

The month of July I spent working behind the scenes to re-brand The Mustard Ceiling and TMC Designs.  I wanted to bring a more cohesive look to the brand The Mustard Ceiling, LLC.  The Mustard Ceiling, LLC incorporates my blog, which focuses on interior design and DIY, my graphic and web design business TMC Designs and my local interior design business.

I am still working to finalize details on both the blog and website, but I wanted to share with you some of my inspiration for the new style and design.

A few keywords words I feel represent The Mustard Ceiling, LLC include; clean, timeless, and classic.  After identifying the keywords for my brand, I browsed pinterest for images that best represent those words and reflect my style. Personally, I am drawn to neutrals, which I wanted to reflect in my brand.  I also like to add a touch of unexpected to each design.  The touches of mustard and peach and the graphic elements throughout add that touch of unexpected to a classic, timeless design.

Below are a few of the boards that guided me through the branding process…

Welcome, to the new blog for TMC Designs!

Over the past month I have been working behind the scenes to re-design the TMC Designs website and re-brand The Mustard Ceiling, LLC.  This blog will feature the latest new, fresh client work I am working on at TMC Designs.  I am still working out the kinks of the new site, but am taking a break for the weekend to attend Haven, a DIY blogger conference in Atlanta!

If you’re attending Haven this weekend, make sure to look me up and say hello…
